Bachelor Degree and Diploma Programmes (for Malaysian students)

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into various bachelor’s degree and diploma programmes (full time/distance education) for the 2016/2017 academic year.

Bachelor Degree Programmes (for International Students)

Entry requirements:

• Completed 12 years of primary and high school education
• High School Certificate (e.g. A Level, HSC, SMU & UAN [Indonesia], Matayom Suksa 6 [Thailand], International Baccalaureate etc.); or diploma in related field
• TOEFL score of 500 (PbT) / 173 (CbT) / 60 (IbT); or IELTS Band 5.5; or MUET Band 4; or obtain minimum Grade B (Level 4) in the Intensive English Programme conducted by the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation USM
• Pass with credit in Intensive Preparatory Bahasa Malaysia Programme [Candidates pursuing programme conducted in the national language]
• Pass the USM interview

Foundation studies programmes

• The application is open for applicants with Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualifications
• Candidates must obtain a unique ID number from BSN outlets by paying RM15.64

• The application is open to applicants with STPM / Matriculation / STAM / Diploma / or equivalent qualifications
• There is no application charge

Bachelor Degree Programmes (for International Students)

Entry requirements:

• National Higher School Certificate (or an Advance Level equivalent) with grade 80% and above; or a diploma from recognised institutions with a CGPA of at least 3.00 in a relevant field
• Undergo an interview session
• Enrol in the Malay Language Programme prior to being conferred a degree
• TOEFL score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 79-80 (IBT) and above and/or IELTS Band 6
