Course Overview

The Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is a 2.5-year programme that provides comprehensive knowledge in Electrical & Electronics Engineering theory and practice. The programme includes 7 semesters of study with a 12-week industrial training component in Year 2 Semester 3.

The curriculum focuses on hands-on training and problem-based learning to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students gain practical experience through laboratory work and real-world industry exposure during their internship.

This programme prepares students for immediate employment in the electrical and electronics industry while also providing a pathway to pursue higher level degree courses. The programme will be accredited by MQA/EAC.

Curriculum

Year 1: Technical Mathematics, Engineering Sciences, Basics of Electrical Engineering, C Programming, Engineering Drawing

Year 2: Analogue & Digital Electronics, Electrical Machines, Microcontroller Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics

Year 3: Industrial Training (12 weeks), Programmable Logic Controllers, Final Project, Technical Electives

Entry Requirements

• SPM: Pass SPM/SPMV with (3) Credits in: Mathematics, Science (Science/Technical/Vocational) & 1 other subject. Pass in English.
• O-Level: Pass O-Level with Grade C in (3) subjects: Mathematics, Science (Science/Technical/Vocational) & 1 other subject. Pass in English.
• UEC: Pass UEC with grade B in (3) subjects: Mathematics, Science (Science/Technical/Vocational) & 1 other subject. Pass in English.
• Certificate: Pass Certificate in Engineering/Engineering Technology (Level 3 KKM) with min CGPA 2.00 OR Pass Vocational/Technical certificate with CGPA 2.00 and 1 Year working experience or 1 semester bridging course.
• English Proficiency: IELTS: 5.0 | TOEFL PBT: 500 | MUET BAND: 3
